\nRussia-based AirBridgeCargo increased the frequency of its scheduled 747 freighter service to Singapore to three times weekly beginning today, according to a company release.
\nCiting strong demand for the added weekly departure, ABC\u2019s new Friday service to Singapore from its Moscow hub will complement its existing Sunday and Thursday flights. Robert van de Weg, ABC\u2019s senior vice president, sales and marketing, said: “Since the very start of our services, we have witnessed strong demand from our customers on routes to and from Singapore, more than 1,200 tonnes of cargo monthly.\u201d
\nThe airline launched flights to Singapore in September 2015 as part of a broader strategy to connect cargo from Asia, to markets in Europe and North America via its Moscow-hub. \u201cThis growth in capacity will provide more cargo options between Singapore and Russia, as well as beyond to Europe and the United States,\u201c said Lim Ching Kiat, senior vice-president for market development at Singapore\u2019s Changi Airport Group.
\nABC began service to Asia in 2004 and has, in recent years, doubled-down on its focus in the region. In 2015, the airline boosted cargo volumes it carried into and out of Asia by 25 percent, which it credited to the discovery and development of \u201cniche markets with growing cargo flows.\u201d
