IAG Cargo\u2019s Heathrow-to-Kuala Lumpur route has exceeded expectations one year after being launched. The service has benefited from strong demand by manufacturers, high-tech shippers and pharmaceutical customers.
\nDavid Shepherd, head of commercial at IAG Cargo, explained that there was \u201csignificant demand for specialist pharmaceutical transportation.\u201d Shepherd added that \u201cfollowing significant investment, we are now able to service that demand though our Constant Climate center in Kuala Lumpur.\u201d
\nIn the last year, IAG Cargo has seen weekly tonnage volumes for their Constant Climate shipments out of the Asia-Pacific region increase by an average of 50 percent, year-over-year, while pharmaceutical volumes have grown by an average of 30 percent weekly, versus the same period in 2015. Kuala Lumpur is part of a temperature-sensitive network of 110 stations across the globe.
\nConstant Climate provides temperature control for pharmaceutical and life-science shipments, supporting temperature requirements as low as minus 20\u02daC and as high as 25\u02daC.
