In 2015, the airport handled 650,000 tonnes of cargo, which is an increase of 10 percent over 2014.<br \/>\nThis year\u2019s plans for the airport include an investment of \u20ac10 million, including a new business aviation center, aircraft stands in the north, energy-saving investments and a new freight hall in the northern zone, along with a storage facility.<br \/>\nLuc Partoune, general manager of Li\u00e8ge Airport, said the airport received an additional boost from new business from Qatar Airways and ANA Aviation in 2015. &#8220;And TNT has also shown very strong growth. CAL, El Al and Icelandair are also on the up,\u201d he added.<br \/>\nThe new year brought new prospects for 2016 as regards passenger traffic, with connections between China and Li\u00e8ge doubling from three to six flights a week.
