It was determined that TCGI is best qualified to expand airfreight and passenger services at the facility. Maastricht is the second-largest cargo hub in the Netherlands.<br \/>\nTCGI, which has been operating in the aviation industry for more than 20 years, represents two of the three freight carriers that fly into MAA \u2013 Turkish Cargo and Royal Jordanian airlines. The company also represents an international network of around 85 airlines.<br \/>\nIn addition to air freight and passenger services, MAA is also the home of aircraft maintenance firms and a training facility for aircraft mechanics, said the airport\u2019s executive councilor Twan Beurskens.<br \/>\nMaastrict Aachen was privatized in 2004 and sold to the U.K. investment firm Omniport and the Dutch construction company, Dura Vermeer. In 2014, the Province of Limburg took over the airport following the threat of bankruptcy.
