Cathay facing cargo disruptions from Super Typhoon Meranti

The Hong Kong-based carrier Cathay Pacific Cargo canceled flights and delayed others as Super Typhoon Meranti bore down on the Chinese mainland yesterday, after punishing the island of Hong Kong, wreaking havoc throughout the region’s transportation sector. The storm dumped about 800 millimeters of rainfall in one day on mainland China, submerging roads and temporarily closing airports.
